Our History

Sowa Tool began when founder, Gerhard Sowa Sr., immigrated from Germany to Canada to start a new life in 1960. Perceiving the need for quality metalworking solutions, he began to import tools and offer them to local manufacturers. Sowa Tool was born. As the business grew, he opened an office and built a strong team, including his son and current CEO, Gerhard Sowa Jr. Recognizing their customers ability to compete relied on identifying better solutions, including tooling, the Sowa team turned their focus to developing their own line of unrivaled tooling.
